Hear Grammy award-winner Sword of the Sea live, along with critically acclaimed music from Journey, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, ABZÛ and The Pathless
London, UK – 3rd March, 2026 – This summer, audiences are invited inside the creative mind of a 2026 Grammy award-winning video game composer, as The Art of Game Music with Troy Baker and Austin Wintory presents a concert that doesn’t just perform game music – it reveals its secrets.
Led from the conductor's podium by acclaimed composer Austin Wintory, and set alongside a traditional orchestral programme – the performance includes original compositions as well as music from other composers that has inspired him throughout his career – the concert will surprise and delight the crowd as Austin and Troy bring their unrivalled chemistry to a live audience.
At the heart of the evening is a unique live element: gameplay scored in real time, with music composed and adapted on stage in response to a visual prompt. It’s a rare opportunity to see how music and concept for a game works together moment-by-moment, revealing the creative decisions normally hidden behind the screen.
Austin Wintory commented, ““For me, writing music for games has always been about empathy — understanding the player’s emotional journey and responding to it moment by moment. What makes this concert so special is that we’re inviting the audience into that process. They won’t just hear themes from Journey or Assassin's Creed — they’ll see how a score breathes, evolves and reacts in real time. It’s vulnerable, it’s unpredictable, and that’s what makes it thrilling.”
Troy Baker commented, "Whether it be in podcast or in person, Austin's and my conversations always focus on the celebration of videogames, especially as it pertains to music. Trying to unpack what makes it all so powerful. In June, we plan to bring those conversations to the stage."
Mateus Pawlak from Game Music Foundation commented, “Game Music Festival was created to celebrate video game music as one of the defining art forms of our time. With Austin and Troy, we’re presenting a concert that doesn’t just perform iconic scores — it reveals the creative thinking behind them. This is about recognising game composers as major contemporary artists and inviting audiences to witness their craft up close.”
Austin and Troy are joined by the renowned London Mozart Players, who will perform selections from acclaimed soundtracks such as Journey, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, ABZÛ, The Pathless, Sword of the Sea and more.
Game Music Festival’s The Art of Game Music with Troy Baker and Austin Wintory takes place on Friday 19 June at Fairfield Halls, just 20 minutes from Central London. The performance runs for approximately 90 minutes with no interval, followed by a meet-and-greet session for VIP ticket holders.
