LONDON, 7th January, 2026 - The UK’s leading charity and academy for the screen arts, BAFTA, in collaboration with Nibbs Events and global entertainment company Esk, is delighted to reveal the striking new visual experience that will accompany the world premiere of BAFTA Games in Concert on 31st January - an orchestral celebration marking 20 years of the BAFTA Games Awards.

For the first time, audiences are given a glimpse of the dynamic new visuals created exclusively for the concert. Harnessing the latest technologies at purpose-built virtual production facilities and using Unreal Engine, original soloists and special instrumentalists have been inserted into the game world throughout the concert, interspersed with iconic gameplay that fans know and love - all in sync with the orchestra live on stage. Each musical suite has been meticulously crafted to synchronise with footage, animation and character moments displayed on a cinematic screen, resulting in a fully immersive performance where live orchestra, choir and game visuals move in perfect harmony.

To bring the soloist visual sequences to life, a specialist crew of 30 - spanning direction, camera teams, volume stage technicians, Unreal Engine engineers, lighting, sound, costume, makeup and production specialists - collaborated during a multi-day shoot at Production Park, one of the UK’s leading rehearsal and creative technology facilities. Known for supporting world-class productions and arena tours, Production Park provided the ideal environment to capture the scale, emotion and artistry behind today’s most loved games.

Jane Millichip, CEO of BAFTA, said: “For 20 years, BAFTA has celebrated the extraordinary talent behind games and the incredible craft in all aspects of game design. Music is not only key to a game's appeal, it elevates the gameplay and engages players on a deep emotional level. BAFTA Games in Concert will be a brilliant celebration of gameplay and performance staged in iconic venues across the UK - we’re really looking forward to introducing the show to audiences later this month.”

“This was a unique process,” said Samuel Weatherstone, CEO of Esk. “The use of Unreal and the Volume Stage has been used to great impact in film, TV and games, and this project offered the opportunity to bring the technology into the live entertainment environment. The visuals are stunning and elevate the rich visual and musical material; bringing audiences closer to the worlds and characters they love.”

The in-concert visuals will feature beloved characters, environments and story moments from across the two-decade history of BAFTA Games Awards nominees and winners. This includes an expanded Baldur’s Gate 3 presentation featuring performances from Mariya Anastasova and Andrew Wincott, original vocalists from the game, captured during the Production Park shoot.

The new images released today offer a behind-the-scenes look at the Production Park sessions, where the creative team captured poignant music performances against the stunning backdrop of the game worlds via Unreal Engine workflows, with cinematic lighting, effects and playback systems to produce visuals purpose-built for orchestral synchronisation in a live setting.

The premiere concert honours two decades of trailblazing game music recognised at the BAFTA Games Awards. Suites arranged exclusively for BAFTA Games in Concert will include titles from across the 20-year history of the awards, uniting standout moments from beloved franchises and landmark soundtracks.

The premiere performance will feature the BBC Concert Orchestra under the direction of BAFTA-winning composer Austin Wintory, with London Voices joining for select pieces.
