London, UK - 9 September 2026 - Ever sat watching a film of a concert of your favourite band in a cinema and wished you could’ve stood up and danced? Now you can, and more, as for the first time ever, Playback Live and Sony Music Vision have created a brand new event at London’s Roundhouse on October 3rd where it will actually feel like you’re at a real concert.
Queen’s iconic, remixed and remastered Budapest concert from 1986 will be shown on stage at the Roundhouse on a giant screen, with surround sound, gig lighting and special effects. A true fan event, there will be original Queen memorabilia exhibited around the venue, with a Queen Budapest merchandise shop, plus a DJ will be playing music from the era before the concert kicks off.

“Coming just weeks after what would have been Freddie Mercury’s 80th birthday, the event will also be a celebration of Freddie, Queen and the extraordinary legacy of their live performances.”
During the concert Queen perform iconic hits such as We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, A Kind Of Magic, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Under Pressure, Who Wants To Live Forever, Hammer To Fall and Bohemian Rhapsody.

The film documents the first Western stadium rock show to take place behind the Iron Curtain and the final filmed Queen live performance.
Captured on 27 July 1986, at Budapest’s Népstadion, during the band’s ‘The Magic Tour’, the concert was a groundbreaking moment, as Queen became the first Western rock band to perform behind the Iron Curtain during a period of profound cultural and political change. In addition to 80,000 tickets selling out, an estimated 45,000 people listened to the group outside, and some fans had travelled from as far away as Russia and Poland to see the concert. With the scale of the achievement, it would have been impossible to imagine that Queen would go on to play only a further 5 shows, ending their touring days forever, with Freddie only one month later, with their final show played at Knebworth Park in England on 9 August 1986.
