Helvepic Unveils “Epic Montreux 2027”, Headlined by 2WEI’s First-Ever Full Live Concert
New international festival will bring more than 200 singers and musicians to Montreux alongside Edda Hayes, an international composition competition, masterclasses and industry event
Montreux, Switzerland - 16 September 2026 - Helvepic has announced “Epic Montreux”, a new international event dedicated to the celebration of “epic music”, taking place on 5 and 6 March 2027 at the Auditorium Stravinski in Montreux, Switzerland.
Created and presented by Helvepic - the Swiss concert production company behind the internationally touring anniversary concert series “World of Warcraft: 20 Years of Music” - and delivered in partnership with La Saison Culturelle de Montreux, the inaugural edition will bring together world-class live performances, emerging composers and the international epic music community.
Ticket sales for Epic Montreux open on 1 October 2026, with early-bird tickets available until 18 October 2026.
2WEI to Perform First-Ever Full Live Concert
At the heart of Epic Montreux will be two landmark concerts headlined by acclaimed German epic music collective 2WEI and featuring artist Edda Hayes.
The performances will mark 2WEI’s first-ever full live concert, bringing the collective’s signature cinematic sound to the stage in an immersive live format. They will be joined by Tale of Fantasy Choir & Orchestra, the Swiss epic music group celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2027.
With more than 200 singers and musicians on stage, the concerts will combine symphonic orchestra, choir, powerful solo vocals and immersive production. The show is an original Helvepic creation, with its staging, arrangements and visual experience developed specifically for Epic Montreux.
“Epic Montreux is our opportunity to bring the international epic music community together around spectacular live performance, while also creating meaningful opportunities for emerging composers. From 2WEI’s first full live concert to a global composition competition and a programme designed to connect audiences, artists and industry professionals, we want to create an event that celebrates where epic music is today and helps shape where it goes next.”
Alexandre Pican - General Manager of Helvepic and Artistic Director of Epic Montreux
"When we released 'Escape Velocity' ten years ago, this was just a dream. Now a 200+ piece orchestra is performing an entire evening of our music in Montreux - I couldn't be more proud and grateful."
Simon Heeger - co-founder of 2WEI
A Global Platform for Emerging Composers
Epic Montreux will also host an international epic music composition competition, open to composers worldwide and dedicated to recognising and supporting emerging talent entering the genre.
Applications will open on 16 September 2026 and close on 8 November 2026. Entrants will have their work reviewed by an international jury of leading professionals from the video game and film-music worlds. Three finalists will be invited to Montreux, where their compositions will be performed live as part of the official programme by more than 200 performers, including a symphony orchestra and choir, giving them a unique platform to showcase their work and take an epic step towards a career in music composition.
Russell Brower, the three-time Emmy Award-winning and BAFTA-nominated composer, conductor and music director, currently serving as Audio & Music Director at CD PROJEKT RED, will serve as the inaugural Patron of Epic Montreux and participate in the competition’s evaluation process.
The jury will also include Alex Moukala, video game and trailer composer; Ludwig Wicki, renowned film-music conductor of the 21st Century Orchestra; Bernard Duc, composer, orchestrator and Music Director at Helvepic; Cedric Baravaglio, video game and trailer music composer; and Alexandre Pican, General Manager of Helvepic and Artistic Director of Epic Montreux.
“Epic Montreux is an event I wish had existed when I was finding my own voice as a composer, because there’s no better way to begin to recognise your emerging musical soul than through the hundreds of collective years’ experience a live orchestra and choir breathes into every note you write.”
Russell Brower, composer and Patron of Epic Montreux
An Epic Gathering for an Epic Event
Beyond the headline performances and composition competition, the programme will include masterclasses, panels, meet-and-greets and networking opportunities, creating opportunities for audiences, artists, composers and industry professionals to connect beyond the concert hall.
Epic Music Comes to Montreux

Epic music is the cinematic sound associated with film, video games, television and trailers, combining orchestral music, choir, cinematic percussion and modern production to create powerful, emotionally immersive experiences. Over the past decade, the genre has developed a growing international audience and an increasingly distinct identity of its own.
Montreux provides a natural setting for this new gathering. The city is internationally renowned for its musical heritage and is home to the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival. In 2023, Montreux joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network as a City of Music, recognising its commitment to musical creation and cultural development.
Epic Montreux aims to build on that legacy by creating a dedicated platform for a genre that brings together audiences from the worlds of orchestral, film, video game and contemporary music.
