Shape the campaign. Draw your victory.

Battleplan demo available during Steam Next Fest

London, UK - 24th February 2026 - A demo of Battleplan, the new genre-defining RTS from Slitherine and Foolish Mortals, will be available to download during February’s Steam Next Fest. Players will be able to experience its unique perspective and streamlined interface through the tutorial and first mission between February 23rd and March 2nd.

In Battleplan players don’t command units directly in the field, they are the general, making high-level strategic decisions from the headquarters, leaving operational and tactical choices to their officers, and drawing plans directly on the map.

The game’s unique features emphasize strategic command over micromanagement, allowing players to issue high-level orders. Through an interactive planning map, commanders can draw strategies directly onto the battlefield using a digital pencil, plotting movements, offensives, defensive lines, counterattacks, and supply routes by hand.

Designed around division-centric gameplay, it places players in control of entire divisions and corps rather than individual squads, highlighting grand strategy and maneuver warfare. Grounded in history, the maps feature archival photography and geo-located historical elements that closely connect each engagement to real-world events.

Battleplan is coming soon from publisher Slitherine and developer Foolish Mortals.

Slitherine is a publisher with strong expertise in historical titles, especially those focused on World War II, like Panzer Corps 2, Strategic Command WWII, and Headquarters: World War II, all successful releases.

Foolish Mortals has developed several indie strategy games with a distinctive twist, including Radio General, where players control their troops using only a radio and a map, and Kaiju Wars, a tactical game inspired by classic kaiju films.

Battleplan combines the developer’s indie spirit with the experience of its UK publisher, well versed in the world of strategy games.
